This unit was used in the repair of color television back in the days when a tv repairman had to know what he was doing. Vector scope was used to monitor the RGB signal in relationship to the Y signal(BW) To all the Heathkit collectors; this unit is probably pretty rare. The cosmetic condition is 8/10 with the one noticable blemish: some left over glue from probably masking tape or a label of some kind. Look at the pictures. this unit powers on and has a green dot in the'scope.As can be seen in picture 5, lacking an old color tv to test this on I couldn't fully test it except to touch the clip leads to get a momentary flash on the screen to show that it does work, at least. Then look no further… offered today for your review is a Heathkit Model 10-12 Laboratory Oscilloscope in Extraordinary Condition. This scope powers up just fine and shows a trace bar where I was able to get several patterns while playing on the CRT Display. Cosmetically it is in excellent condition showing only light wear as the photos show. The beam is in focus and adjusts up/down/narrow and wide. All the knobs turn correctly. Smoothly and as they should without restriction. Test leads are included but I have no manual. I have seen manuals listed right here on ... moreeBay for this model so one could be easily acquired if desired. Please understand- I’m not knowledgeable with this type of equipment and I have no way to properly test it. I did take the time to research the scope and found an interesting web site that detailed its functionality and features which I’m passing along to you. It reads; The Heathkit 10-12 is a single-trace vacuum tube oscilloscope. The 10-12 has horizontal and vertical inputs on the front panel. As well as a place to connect an external trigger. The 10-12 also has a z-axis input, though it is well concealed. The user must unscrew a small metal hatch from the back of the unit to gain access to the z-axis connector. All connecters are the banana plug style common on older scopes, instead of more modern BNC connectors. The screen diameter is an ample five inches, and rotary knobs are used for all front panel operations. The horizontal frequency scale has two user presets, which can be set by inserting a screwdriver into a pair of holes on the right of the timebase control. This is a Hitachi V-422 with a brand new 1x-10x probe. I dont know about this unit besides it powers up great and appears to work great. The right bottom corner has a cracked corner and the second probe connector is a little crushed but nothing that cant be made right with some pliers. Good luck.

This unit has very little. Extremely little use, as we use a four channel scope for 90% of our needs. Its is of course fully operational and has very few blemishes. I got three of these from an"electronics guy" He had all kinds of old test equipment downstairs in his'shop' When you plug it in and turn it on. The power light comes on. If you turn the knobs, you receive no response from or affect on the oscilloscope. No trace ever appears. This is all I know how to do as I have sold a number of oscilloscopes but I am just a reseller and do not know how to use them. I guess the internet leads me to sites that audio people say it works for audio and AM but too low for FM. I think this is collectable too as it was the first battery powered oscilloscope made. I took of the battery department. Has the removal key type pin that holds battery compartment on below. There were no batteries in it and the compartment has not been corroded from batteries ... morebeing left in there. Has what appears to be the original 3 pin AC power cable. A Good Reliable Tektronix. Why sell it? My brother gave me an upgrade. And I really need just one scope. Comes with 1 10x probe( I am keeping the 1X probe used to get the screen shot) 1 Manual very good shape 1 Quick reference. About 8 pages Complete with front cover to protect the unit I took a screen shot of Channel TWO measuring line voltage. And the Channel ONE measuring the output from a 12V battery charger. You can see the screen is all correct, the cursors read correctly etc. Everything works. With one warning! Look at the final photograph, you can see a power up failure. This happens about every 10th time I power it up. All I do is hit a key and continue, and it has never affected the scope. IT has been this way for 10 years, I think it's not a big deal, but feel I should put this ... moreissue out there upfront.
