Put some sort of character in the field of view of this sensor, press the teach button and that's it. Every time that character is seen by the camera(sensor) an output is activated. Very easy to use, simple to set up, I use them to find break marks on my ink-jet lines and speed up the conveyor. In the past I have used these sensors on folders to seperate zip marks, on laser printers to check for blank sheets, on ink-jet lines to speed up the delivery conveyor for bundles.
