As an electrician for 32 years. I still favor these types of meters over digital meters in some situations. Checking relay contacts, setting up balanced magnetic switches, continuity, Ohms. the needle movement gives a nice quick visual indication. If i need precision ill use my digital meter but this old school type is my favorite for trouble shooting. i believe this to be a 1992 model. Based on the date on manual provided with the meter. New, extra long leads.

This megohmmeter is a fully functional meter that is used to test high resistances such as insulation resistance etc. The battery operated instrument measures to 100 meg ohms on the megohm range and 3 megohms on the kilohm range. Was tested with a 1 megohm resistor and the needle was right on scale in both ranges. Uses 4 AA batteries(included) which are installed. The meter dial illuminates during test to accommodate use in poorly lit areas. Test voltage is 500V in the megohm range and 20V in the kilohm range. Test probes are permanently attached and the unit is calibrated by plugging the probe into the calibration socket.

Really sweet old meter. Hard pressed to find many of these type meters anymore.Notice the running gears, Awesome! Back in those days they gold plated all of the brass gears, out of this world cool. Ya gotta love the 25 amps, LoL! 1. clothes dryer would use up the entire service and them some. It's hard to see in the photos, but the glass has amethysts hue to it.Steampunk masterpiece coming on.As far as I know the only thing missing is the bottom wire connection cover plate. I have 2 Myron L. Company meters for auction. I found them in a box with chlorine and water hardness equipment.
