Really sweet old meter. The outside shell/case has a dent in it. And the glass is gone. But the good news, it did its job protecting the inside. This is a vintage piece of electronics for fixing old TV's. The tester will check for continuity the base pins and the elements in the tube. It will check for the amount of emission from the cathode of the tube. It will test the cutoff characteristic of the tube. The unit was plugged in and powers up but had nothing to test it on. Here we have a Simpson Volt Ohm Meter(VOM) complete with case. Operating booklet, and probes. The carry strap seems to be missing, but looks like two screws are present. No way to test, but the meter movement seems to float freely and I see no visible abnormal damage externally. This is a Model 260, series 6. There is minor soiling from expected usage, but looks good overall. The case seems to be leather and is branded"Simpson" on the front. I'll look for the carry handle, but it doesn't appear to be available unless it is under the probes somewhere. Assume it missing. The booklet shows age, but then so do I. Ask questions. No returns. One site we went to stated that the serial number indicated it was built 1906- 1920 era. It was removed from a local factory. And that building is from the turn of the century. Other than that. You are looking at a vintage" Watthour Meter" electrical meter made by the Westinghouse Electric Mfg. Co. of Pittsburg. PA. There is a brass label on the front that specifies.100 volts, 5 amperes 60 cycles single phase two wire type oa and bears the serial number 3621486. I have no way of testing this meter to see if it works or not, but other than some old sticker at the very bottom of the glass front, everything about this meter seems original, still sealed and intact. The face of the meter shows four dials labeled"kilowatt Hours" beneath the glass on the front. A the very bottom of the brass plate that is sealed inside, are several patent dates beginning with 6-26-06 and ending with 11-23-19, leading me to believe that this electric meter is some 90+ years of age. The ... moreglass face measures 6 inches in diameter, while the entire meter measures 9 inches tall, 7 inches wide, and 5.5 inches deep. You are looking at a vintage"Type H Watthour Meter" electrical meter made by the Sangamo Electric Company of Springfield. Illinois. There is a brass label on the front that specifies.30 AMPS, 110/220 volts 60 cycles, 3 wire, Line Load' and bears the serial number 233643. I have no way of testing this meter to see if it works or not, but when first acquired by me, it had a tag attached that reads"Meter Tests 100.1% see close-up photo) The test tag is from"The Twin State Gas& Electric Company" of Brattleboro, Vt. Evdrything about this meter seems original, still sealed and intact. The face of the meter shows four dials(10000, 1000, 100, and 10) beneath the glass on the front. The number 185 is visible on the front face beneath the glass, and again on the round ... morebody and back base plate indicating that these are all the matched, orignal parts.
