General Electric Watthour meter. Type I-16. Single phase, 25 amp, 230-240 volt, 60 cycle, 3 wire, serial number 15 784 644, a piece of plastic dynometer tape with WTM-71 on it. The paper label on the back that normally lists 7 patents is torn partly off. One of the needles is missing on the dial. The front plate over the screws holding the wires is missing. Used condition. I don't know if this works but it came from an Ohio collection put together by an electrical company worker. Several of the previous meters I sold were reported to work by buyers. I used solid styrofoam to pack the meter and keep it from moving. I've shipped about a dozen of them without incident. Up for auction is an old Thompson“Alternating Ammeter” by General Electric Co. The original calibration sticker date 6/17/18 is still affixed to the inside wooden case cover. Case measures W 7 1/8”x D 4 ¼”x H 6 ¾” It has been on display in my Ham Radio Shack along with other old meters many years and now doomed for Ebay. The meter is in excellent shape with no rust and the wood is still good with no dings or scratches. I never tested the unit. Used for display only. The meter fits inside of the wooden case and appears there is no way to open the box to get the meter out, very neat the way it was constructed. I don't know if it works, my 83 year old father picked it up at an auction in the mid-80's. The label indicates it was last serviced in 1986. The Kilowatts and Volt Meters have the patent dates: Dec. 25th 1896-July 11th 1905/The Amp Meter has the patent dates: Feb. 25th 1896-July 11th 1905. The Single Phase House type meter does not show a patent date that I can find. If you are starting a collection; you will have a GREAT start right here.
