Denton DV-502 High Vacuum Evaporator Up for auction is this used Denton DV-502 High Vacuum Evaporator. It is overall in pretty good cosmetic condition with the normal few scratches and scuffs on its surface. No real damage. It is missing the dome. See photos below for more details on physical condition. We tested this Denton evaporator out quite a bit as described below. The auto pump down system works and the rotary drive control works also. The roughing pump was able to pump down to 20 millitorr. The pneumatic valves all work properly. We couldn't test the diffusion pump(the heating element is good) or the filament voltage. Because of a high vacuum interlock. As shown in the photos the system is missing the chamber dome. We borrowed one from our other system to test with. Up for auction is this used Rotavapor made by Brinkmann Buchi model R 110. Rotor motor has nice working variable speed dial and has a very nice glass joint. Top part of the glass stem has a very small chip. I could barely get it to show up on the pic. Heated bath has a good working thermostat and you can see in the pics I illustrated the deposits/stains and flaking paint but it isn't that bad. Very little calcium deposits inside the bath too. The manual leveling rod is hard to adjust but I'm not sure if I am using it right. Not many on ebay with all this included in one auction. This is a large package. Up for Sale is a Buchi Rotovapor R-205 Rotovap Rotary Evaporator with B-490 Heating Water Bath! This Rotavap set is in very nice physical condition. It shows little signs of use. The only thing I noticed that is worth pointing out is that there is a ~1" spot inside the bottom of the bath where the Teflon-like coating has peeled off. Sigma Instruments SQM-160 Thickness/Deposition Monitor For sale- a. Well, it depends on which side of it you are looking at. From the front it is a TORR International. Inc. FTM-2000. On the back it says that it was manufactured by Sigma Instruments Model SQM-160. I think the explanation is that Sigma made the thing and put TORR’s name on it so that they could sell it as part of their CRC-150 Compact Research Coater system. Either way it is a thickness/deposition monitor. There isn’t much info on the TORR FTM-2000 available on the net. But it’s easy to find the Sigma SQM-160. Including as an option for the Denton DV-502B High Vacuum Evaporator. I have bought and sold a couple of Denton 502’s. So I know that is a fairly common lab fixture for thin film deposition. Denton lists the SQM-160 as ... morebeing a $6.483.75 option. New of course. But still, over $6K. This thing is in excellent physical condition with one exception. The shaft of the single rotary control is slightly bent. It doesn’t appear to affect the operation of the piece. And you can still push it in to do whatever that allows you to do. I have played with this a bit and it appears to be completely responsive based on my limited testing. The only red flag. Pictured, is the CRYSTAL 1 dEAd display. I assume that is because it isn’t connected to anything. But I could certainly be mistaken. I have shown a variety of other less ominous displays.
