This was a back up grinder in a coffee trailer. It just is not getting the use for me to justify keeping it. It has a couple of minor issues- the switch has chipped. Over time. Ditting Model KR1203 Made in Bachenbulach Switzerland Manufactured 09 2007 120 volt Single phase. 13 amp 60 hz This is a really nice coffee grinder and it has had very little use. It is probably the closest that you can find to a new unit without buying a new unit. If you need to replace the burrs on these units. They cost upwards of 500.00. According to Ditting, the burrs can be resharpened up to 2 times. These units are very expensive when purchased brand new. I have a you tube video of this unit grinding some beans that I purchased from Peets coffee. I have been going to Peets coffee since they changed over from Caribou and they have a Ditting grinder like this that they use to grind their beans. It is quite interesting because before I purchased these grinders, I had been going to Peets ... moreand had noticed that the coffee was a lot better then what they served at Caribou. A video of the Ditting factory shows how they cut their burrs and it shows a machine that measures the particle size of the coffee after it has been ground through their burrs. The Swedish gentleman was pointing to a graph on the monitor of their particle size measuring machine and was explaining how they maintain the particle size to conform to a particular area on the graph because when the ground coffee conforms to the particle size within that area of the graph, the coffee is supposed to taste better. It became apparent to me that this was partially why I enjoyed the coffee at Peets, better than the coffee at Caribou, probably because of how it was ground in addition to how it was roasted. I purchased some Sumatra beans at Peets, because I had a cup of it at their shop so I figured I would try grinding some in this Ditting KR1203 back at the house. The coffee turned out to be very good, even on my old Braun coffee maker. I did also notice how the used grinds seem to have a different pattern of settling higher up around the filter. Hello. This is an American Duplex Company Commercial Coffee Grinder; Works great. It does have paint flaking off and normal wear from use. It weighs 65 lbs; very sturdy construction. Good used Mazzer Luigi SRL Super Jolly. First. I will list all the flaws I have noticed. This is a used grinder which means there are some scratches, scuffs, and wear. On the back right bottom near the leg there is a small crack in housing(about 1/2 inch) The hopper has a hairline crack in the back lower portion(also about 1/2 inch) The paint seems to have been touched up at some point. There are also a lot of good points about this machine. It seems to work well(I've tested it) The burrs look like they are in good shape, and overall it is pretty clean and complete. These units were built to withstand a lot of abuse, and are quite durable. This model has the auto shutoff(to prevent overheating) It has all of the data stickers on the side, the Astoria plate on the back, and the Brevatto ... morestickers on the side. The cord has a few shallow nicks- but no frays, deep gauges, or exposed wire. This unit weighs almost 28 pounds- and I will charge a flat $50 for standard USPS shipping within the US. This machine is in excellent conditions. It was part of a slow business and about two years old. No need to change the burrs or anything. Very clean and used to serve the finest espresso ever.
