Has 4-40 threaded replaceable contact points(make them shorter or longer to suit your measurement needs) With replaceable points, the system can have different jaws put on the front to extend forward or upward to practically any size. Wiring is Teflon shielded and is a few feet long. There are 4 individual strain gages and it is wired using the standard 4-wire output(wheatstone bridge) so it can be wired to practically any universal testing machine or DAQ system. Closes to about 0.230 inches at the tips(you could grind them down to make them close a bit more) ... moreand is naturally open(springs open) to about 0.80 inches at the same measurement point. Unit is about 0.30 inches wide, from back to front the length is about 1.20 inches. It is about 1.58 inches high. Can be used down to-453F(liquid helium) and of course will work with liquid nitrogen(has the proper strain gages and adhesive) Top temperature range is about 250F. Extremely accurate analog device. Most likely you will want to replace the 4 wire end connectors to match the type of equipment you are using. Item has been checked and it provides the proper electrical response, can be returned if defective but return will be declined if it is user error or if it has been damaged. Applications include tensile and compression tests. Product tests and anything else that needs a super high accuracy change in distance measurement. Techkor Argus Automated Measurement System For sale- a Techkor Instrumentation Argus Automated Measurement System. I can’t find a lot about this piece on the web. But it appears to be a sixteen channel data acquisition system used in stress/strain analysis, vibration testing, and temperature measurement. Essentially this is a Pentium 166MHz computer inside a rack mount that I guess would accommodate interchangeable plug-ins. It is currently fitted with 16 Calibrated A1000 Amplifiers. Whatever they are. Two of the few items that popped up when I searched were Technical Bulletins from Techkor that mention it in conjunction with vibration testing and accelerometers. And temperature measurement using thermocouples. Nothing other than the rack mount unit you see pictured is offered here. And specifically ... morethere are no accelerometers or thermocouples, nor are there any additional cables other than the AC cord if you will remind me. I also saw it mentioned on a third party site that has a synopsis of an article on resistive strain gage use. But again, no outboard sensors or other hardware is included. Techkor appears to be alive and well here(a division of Advanced Conversion Technology) Specializing in the kind of sensors already mentioned. I do not see anything on their website about the Argus. So I have no idea if any support is still available for this system or not. You should do your own homework in that regard before you buy.
