Here is a nice Agilent 4278A. I do not fully understand the function of this meter. So I am not able to do any complete tests. However I was able to test some capacitors, and it appears to be accurate, with instant results. When I install the mem card at boot-up, meter would switch to 1mhz, and made other adjustments(not sure what exactly) so some setup file must be stored on the card for this instrument. I did not do any further testing. It should probably be calibrated, as I don't know when it last was serviced. Minor digits will roam in auto mode but this seems true on"tested calibrated" similar units advertised. As you can see in the photos, the calibration seals are still intact, so must still be as the factory set it. Installed rear Card Options include Handler Interface(202) ... moreGPIB(101) and Scanner Interface(301) None of these have been tested, however. I ncluded is a printed maintenance manual. The case is missing two of the rear bumpers in the back. And 2 bumpers for the bottom. I assume these were removed to fit into the mainframe rack? There are more than the first 12 at the top. This vintage piece of test equipment has been tested in-house and found to be working. As we are not experts with these meters. We have tested it and feel comfortable that is functional. There may be something we missed so this is sold as is. As seen in the pictures. We were able to set it up and confirm the Q of one of the included Boonton reference coils with a know Q. You can see the the meters indicate a Q of about 200 and the coil tested is marked 200. The power cord should be replaced as it has many spots where the outer insulation has has cracked. The paint has lots ... moreof scratches especially neer the edges. The coils set is complete. By that I mean that every coil listed on the front cover is in the case. 14 total. The case has some corrosion in the bottom. A previous tech has hand written notes and marks on some of the coils. this appears to me to be in good condition normal wear the face/control panel i would say is in very good condition but i am no expert.
