You are bidding on a super clean US Navy OS-8G/U oscilloscope in partial working order. The OS-8GU is the last(and in my opinion the best) of the series of OS-8 scopes built for the Navy in the 1950's and early 1960's. This little scope measures just 14 inches by 7 inches by 9 inches and weighs under 15 pounds. It comes in a solid aluminum case(last photo) with shock mounts inside(photo 1) The scope uses a 3RP1 CRT. But unlike the earlier versions the OS-8G/U is otherwise entirely solid state. It is simply beautifully constructed(photo 3) The side panels open with four screws to allow quick access to the inside for adjustment or repairs. Under a hinged back panel are jumpers that allow very versatile connections to the CRT deflection electrodes(photo 4) The controls are very well laid ... moreout(photo 2) This particular OS-8G/U is serial number A542. Built by Philadelphia Scientific Controls for the Navy(photo 6) Cosmetically this one is in near mint condition(see photos) Hardly a mark on it. This scope generates a clear bright trace when fed by external signals. But there is something wrong with the horizontal amplifier circuit. As the horizontal position control is turned to move the trace from the left side of the screen to the right side, the trace first shrinks to zero width in the middle, then expands as a reflection on the right side of the center line. The built-in sweep is also not working, probably due to the same cause. The vertical amplifier is working perfectly. I've seen this kind of problem in other scopes, and it's not too hard to repair. I believe the manual for this scope can be found on the web, but I do not have one. If you are looking for a really well built small portable analog scope for servicing electronic equipment that doesn't require a high bandwidth. This is an excellent choice. This processor board is used in a variety of products. It is used in the 54710A/D. 54720A/D, 54750A, and 83480A but the right EEPROM needs to be loaded. Tell me what you need The 54720A/D firmware rev 4.07. and holds cal factors for my 54720A. The 83480A is A.07.12. The 54750A is the latest. I have replaced the battery which holds the cal factors. NOTE! You will need to calibrate to your frame and hardware. That requires a 54717A cal plug-in fpr the 54720A/D. Not sure about the 83480A cal.

Item is used. But in good working condition. It is capable of being used with a power cord or battery. It comes with an A/C power cord, but the battery needs to be replaced. I have seen replacement batteries on Ebay for $20-$30. It can be used without the battery by simply plugging it in. When I bought this, I purchased a low amp probe separately brand new. I will include this with the oscilloscope for the winner of the auction. I only used the probe once. I have only used the oscilloscope a couple of times. THIS 2465A TEKTRONIX OSCILLOSCOPE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT APPEARS IT WAS RARELY USED. IT HAS ITS TOP COVER AND INCLUDES ITS OWNERS MANUAL. Pictures: Comes as shown in the pictures Different views of one Tektronix TDS5054B 500 MHz. 5 GSa/s, 4 Ch, Digital Oscilloscope. You get the oscilloscope, looks like most of the original documentation, software on 3 cds, 2 scope probes, stylus, canvas storage bag(attaches to top of scope) and power cord. Concerns: This scope was in great condition when I received it and only used it a few times. So there's not much changed in condition. It originally had 4 probes and all were new in their packaging. I'm only including 2 scope probes one I open to test the scope and the other is new,unopened, in its packaging. If I do find the other scope probes will send to the highest bidder free of charge(have no need for them) But as it stands now I'm only including 2 probes. The scope does ... morework. But I noticed when I first plug it into the ac outlet it doesn't boot all the way(it starts as soon as I plug it in? The screen freezes at the tektronix logo. You'll need to reboot by holding the power button for a few seconds. Once its rebooted, it starts fine and any other power cycles normally through the power button work each time(must'n be unplug though or you'll have to reboot again) Takes about a minute or two to boot before the scope is displayed. The scope isn't fully tested and may need calibration. But as far as i can tell it works fine. The documentation does have some staining and wrinkles, one is still sealed in plastic.
