I bought this scope(S/N 3051A03399) in an eBay auction as a parts/repair unit. I restored it to good physical and operating condition by setting line power to 115V. Installing three missing panel buttons, replacing bad CHAN 1 attenuator, installing missing top panel trim strip, replacing bad trigger qualifier board, and performing a front-panel calibration. I also verified proper HP-IB output operation by making a screen print to an HP thermal printer. The scope is in sound physical condition with typical scuffs and wear marks, but is missing its bottom and rear feet and input connector covers. The first screen picture shows a pulse pattern. This auction is a for a Knight KG-635 DC oscilloscope dating from the early 1970s. There is a tag applied to the chassis with the employee ID of a service technician at Knight Electronics. But since I am the original owner of this item, I can tell you that I never had it in for service. I bought this'scope from a friend of mine who purchased large lots of surplus items from Allied Radio in the late 1960s and into the 1970s. The unit was in assembled, as-new condition when I got it, although there was no manual included. I do not know who aseembled this scope, but they did a very good job. The wiring is neatly installed and soldered. This is a basic'scope with bandwidth suitable for audio and radio IF applications. It is SINGLE trace. With sync, and has marked(see photo) input ranges ... moreof.05, 5, 5, and 50 v/inch. The markings on the graticule are such that the overall range is 2 inches of deflection for being within the marks. Sweep is adjustable over a range of approximately 10 Hz to 500 kHz. Line(60 Hz) or external sweep sources can be selected. The CRT is a round, flat face type, 5DEP2(see photo) which has a bluish-green trace. It may be replaced with a type 5DEP1, which has a green trace. As can be seen in the photos, the present CRT has a clear, bright trace at only about 2/3 of maximum brightness setting. The focus control works well. While no manual or probe are included(both should be available on-line) A cabinet is. I removed the chassis from the cabinet so as to check and clean the pots and switches. Upon re-installation, I did notice one of the"characteristics" of this modest scope: note that it does not have a mu-metal shroud over the CRT. While the 5DEP2 is an electrostatic deflection tube, the fact is that like most CRTs of its type, deflection of the beam is affected by nearby magnetic fields an/or materials. In this case, installing the chassis into the steel cabinet results in the trace being deflected downward a bit. This problem may not be curable without adding your own mu-metal

I have these two Tektronix 475 200Mhz oscilloscopes that I tested with a 1usec pulse width at 10usec pri and they seem to work very well on both channels. I will say I cannot and did not test all the features of these scopes but I have no reason to believe there are any issues at all. Display is bright and focus is good. I have had this scope for a number of years with light use. Cosmetics are pretty good. A few of the little rubber switch ends have cracks. The feet have a few bits of plastic off but that is about it. Last cal was decades ago. If the scope is not used for a long period sometimes it is necessary to cycle the switches but they come back. I believe it is all working but have not tested some of the less used functions like z axis. The scope is a 2 channel. The four traces in the picture show mixed B delayed by A mode. A 485 has roughly a 300- 350MHz bandwidth with the proper probes. No probes or manual are included. I have a pdf of the maintenance manual if desired.
