Up for auction is a Tektronix Tek 465 Oscilloscope complete with 4 Probes. Serial Number B021581. I turned it on and got several patterns on the screen(see pics) so it is believed to be working. It may need calibration as the last calibration sticker I see on it is 1976. It is in good cosmetic condition and all of the knobs and buttons operate fine. I notice the upper left"position knob" wobbles a bit but works fine. The handle is solid and stable. No case damage. Has a built in top pouch to hold the 4 probes and tips which are included. I am offering you a repaired. Tested, correctly working main power supply assembly(shown on right side of main photo) for your analog Tektronix 2400series scope. It fits analog 2400s made after 1986 that did not include a Siemens tubular fan(as in early 2445& 2465, but relied on a boxer(muffin) fan mounted on the back of the scope. You should specify model, serial, any options your scope has, as there was a divergence in 1989 as to how option power was distributed. I am ALSO including in this lot a good high voltage power supply assembly, which although rarely fails, is much more difficult to troubleshoot& repair at the component level(shown in left side of photo is the HVPS for non 2467/2467B scopes, but I am willing to send you the HVPS for 2467/B if that is your preference, let ... moreme know) With these 2 power supplies your 2400 scope will have all the voltages it needs inside. Again, while HVPS failures are very rare, LVPS failures are more common, especially in scopes with high hours, and with this purchase you will be prepared to deal with either, while saving $400 over sending me the whole scope for repair. Most common symptoms of power supply failures are: a faint clicking sound instead of normal powerup, or all LEDS lighting up faintly simultaneously, or seeming to turn on for 1 second but not staying on, or dithering of readout characters on screen, or blowing rear fuse. Costs only a tiny fraction of its $9,000 new price, yet years from now well maintained 2465Bs(last scopes Tek made to be repairable) will still be faithfully serving their owners as the pile of unrepairable junked DSOs grows to the size of a mountain. DSOs have tried to emulate the features of high performing analog scopes since day-1, and in some respects are still trying. Besides high bandwidth, P6137 has a button that the listed scopes can interpret as a user defined task to execute each time you press(like auto-scale) 2445B also understands button command, other 2400s do not. Fluke 97 scopemeter Not Working This unit stopped turning on suddenly. I do not have the time to perform repairs. I did some research and found its power Suppy is the problem. When the charger is connected and the battery is charged. Press the power button and you can hear a very quiet whine of a capacitor charging up. As far as I understand there is a flyback converter or simmiler circuit used to generate a 12 volt source from the 6 volt battery. The capacitors fail and it quits functioning. Anyway.
