Offered for auction is a vintage late 40's to early 50's EL-TRONICS MODEL NO SM3 SERIAL 1909 RADIATION DETECTOR. It is listed in the US Navy- National Radiation Instrument Catalog. It is a commercial unit designated at AN/PDR-26. The unit measures beta and gamma. These units were used during the late 1940's to early 1950's by the navy as a result of the Pacific area nuclear testing. It measures 10" x 4" x 6" The probe is 7.5" long.
