This is a Victoreen CD V-717 meter I put a battery in it and it does power up. The circuit test pegs the meter BUT the zero function is off. The needle goes up to mid scale and doesn't go down to zero. It is repairable. You get only the meter. This is an as is sale. Here's a set of three Victoreen Civil Defense Radiation Detectors. Model numbers CDV-715, CDV-717, and CDV-720(one each, and sold as a set) These are in working condition and have been refurbished. The meters function smoothly, and the units have been tested to pass battery check and to properly zero. All potentiometers(internal and external) have been treated with Deoxit SD5 compound to restore functionality, lubricate them, and improve electrical properties. All battery terminals, contacts, etc. have also been treated as well. Any capacitors, if found faulty, have been replaced. Up for your pleasure is an older model Geiger counter. Model 5 made by Ludlum Measurements Inc. in Sweetwater Texas. I don't know how old it is. But I took the batteries out of it a few weeks ago because I needed them for my flashlight. The 2 d cell batteries were working fine in the counter at that time. This is a very nice Narda Electro-magnetic Radiation Monitoring Kit. The meter unit is a model 8616. Built and hand inspected in 1995. Kit includes the 8621D probe, 8631 Probe, AC lead to power the unit and/or recharge batteries. Also included the operation and maintenance manual and a slide calculator radiation levels. All in a foam padded case that fits the equipment. The case has a cracked corner, but doesn't affect the protection of the equipment. I don't know much about this stuff, but plugged the meter and probes in and was able to get readings and the test function seemed to work- see pics. ask all questions before bidding.

This working Geiger Counter is a hobbyist assembled combination of an Eberline 3212679 laboratory grade instrument and an ex-military"RADIAC DETECTOR DT-53B/PDR-27" probe. The meter has four ranges of scaling and an earphone BNC connector is on the front panel. All scales. High voltage and threashold sensitivity are independently adjustable. The probe has a manually shiftable window cover which clips to the probe body in both open and closed positions. This is an uncalibrated meter. It will run for a very long time on 5"D" size flashlight cells. Photos two shows the background reading and photo three is the indication from a pair of radioactive lantern mantles. A very slight adjustment of the high voltage can be made. If more sensitivity is needed. The probe cable is about ... more55 inches long. And permenently attached inside the unit. This makes battery changing less convenient, but otherwise seems to work OK. I cannot provide any assurance that this unit is fit for a specific use, only that it appears to be in working order. The body of the detector is a hermetically sealed clear plastic container. Inside is a clear central cylinder that contains about 40 small red plastic beads. By shaking the unit. The plastic beads are given a static charge that causes them to rise up and attach to the inside of the cylinder. Up for auction is a Holaday Broadband Exposure Meter model HI-3002. When I first received this. The battery low indicator came on when powered on. I was unable to find the charger so there is no charger included. Unit looks to have been well cared for and is in very nice shape. Two wands are STH-02 27MHz 1.00 and STE-02 27MHz 1.00. Goldak is another one of the literally hundreds of companies that attempted to keep up with the demand for prospecting equipment during the Uranium rush of the 1950s. Most of them either folded or transitioned into other types of instruments by 1960 when the large government bonuses were discontinued. Detectron.
