Good ole complete. Usable, Enterprise 6 qt. sausage stuffer/fruit lard press. Not much paint left. A bit dirty, with plenty of rust but will clean up nice. Solid cross grain laminated wood base with all the parts present. The seam on the strainer screen is weak but works and the sausage tube looks to be a piece of conduit with a flare put on the end. Fresh from a central Indiana estate comes this 2 gallon sized Enterprise Cast Iron sausage stuffer or lard press. Seems to be complete with the screen. The foot, the plate on top, no outlet pipie and has the ring to attach it. It does have a crack in the shaft where the screw comes down, it has been repaired with a hose clamp and seems to function properly. I will have to remove it from the bench it is mounted on. This is a beautiful example of a really high quality old press. It's an 8 quart Enterprise from Philadelphia. It hasn't been touched up or refinished. Some of the old stencilling remains faintly visible. There are no cracks. Chips, or mechanical problems. It's complete with both the large diameter and small diameter cast iron plates, the cast iron plate with holes, tin strainer(if that's what you'd call it-I don't know) and finally the sausage stuffer tube and nut. I don't know if the tube is original or not but it will work. The nut appears to be original and it locks on tightly with a half turn clockwise. This press is very clean. I gently, yet thoroughly, cleaned it with soap and water as if I was going to use it myself. It wasn't all that dirty but it still ... moretook me a long time. After I cleaned it I oiled it with food safe mineral oil. All you'd need to do is give it a rinse before using it. You should periodically oil the gear shafts as necessary(I like to use mineral oil) The main frame, not counting the screw is about 19" tall to the top of the arch. It weighs 49 1/2 pounds total before packing for shipping. If you need more photos I would be glad to send them. It's a very nice clean example. The plate and upper portion of this has been repaired as can be seen in photo this was either broken or cracked but has been re-welded and all works fine. This does not include basket nor smaller plate but does have stuffer horn nut and cracklin plate along with large plate wood handle has crack as can be seen in photo. This was recently cleaned and seasoned. Other than repaired areas previously disclosed this is a pretty nice stuffer and would be excellent for use in any butcher shop. I saw a Sausage Stuffer/Maker identical to this one. But the other had an 1858 patent date cast into it, and this one does not. That means this one is either a newer knock off, or merely made by a different manufacturer? There are many of these units listed on ebay from an array of different manufacturers, I simply have no history on this particular piece. The sausage stuffer is in excellent condition, no cracks or defects whatsoever. The black paint is tired, but that may actually help the value?

Up for auction is a 4 quart Enterprise sausage stuffer/ fruit press. It has 2 patent dates of 1876& 1883. There are no breaks. Cracks or repairs to the cast iron. The wood handle for the crank is crack free. The threads and gears are all in great shape and cranks freely all the way up and down. It has been meticulously cleaned and given a coat of vegetable shortening( the same type used to season cast iron skillets) inside and out. It comes with everything in the pics. The only thing missing is the spout and the collar to hold the spout on. Both of these items are available on eBay. Beautiful display piece or good solid user. US shipments only. Thanks for looking.
