This is a really cool unit that not only allows you to match preamp tubes for gain and output. But also to audio test them for microphonics using headphones or the built in speaker; even a scope output to see the tube's actual wave! You can even hook up a signal generator or music source to the input and listen to/see the tube's response. It is in good cosmetic shape considering the age of the unit. Some scratches. This tester does preform all the tests. And functions in all positions. I have noticed the high gain microphonic test to be very sensitive. Some tubes that would work in most amp positions seem exhibit some microphonic tendencies in this circuit. It could need some ... moreadjustment. Or it might be perfectly fine. Maybe that's what makes this tester such a good mousetrap for tube screening! I am listing and selling it for use as is. With no reserve and no returns since I don't have any way of ensuring that it is 100% calibrated after all these years though all the basic functions do seem to work. I just can't justify having it around at this point. Here is a 1941 Triplett Radio Test Equipment Catalog Tube Tester. There is a date hand written on the front Mar 1941. The catalog is 12 pages and is 8 1/2" X 11. It pictures tube testers. SENCORE TC162 MIGHTY MITE VII VACUUM TUBE TESTER* DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY! Tests good against my Hickok 539C. Comes with original Set-up Data/tube chart. Which covers thousands of tubes, and a copy of the Service Manual, which includes the full calibration instructions and instructions of how to build a calibration test module. All the sockets are nice and tight and all the switches and knobs operate as they should. Shorts light works. Life test switch works- this is an awesome, quick and easy to use tube tester. Good condition for age. But there are a couple of things I want to point-out. There are some marks on the meter cover, which look like someone has stuck something sticky on it. There is also a small crack in the meter cover, but neither of these things affect the way the meter ... moreor this tester works. There is also a crack on one of the knobs which looks like it has been glued, but again it doesn't affect the operation of the tester- new knobs are available on eBay for $5. Also, the ground pin is missing from the power cord, again this doesn't affect the operation of the tester and a new power cord could be easily fitted.
