The serial number is C- 26397 which dates this tester back to the late sixties- early seventies. It's over 40 years old and still performing it's intended function beautifully. Test Set Electron Tube TV-2C/U. Serial no. 1327, by Designers For Industry, Inc. Unit is working but needs some repair and probably recalibration. Sold as-is. Will not be DOA. Known defects: Case has some small dents/depressions in case. Paint scrapes and tape residue. Labeling above roll chart has missing headings(written in) The two miniature pin straighteners are missing from holder. Bias meter is not mechanically on"0" but rests about two graduations above zero. The meter does function on all ranges and moves upscale as you increase bias volts control. It is close. But does not indicate true bias voltage as measured with a VTVM on tube socket grid pin. Plate and Screen voltages, measured at socket pins, are slightly below meter readings. Good hinges and latches. No looseness ... moreand working fine. All controls and meters are functioning. Roll chart turns freely. ID on the chart is Order No. 4376-PP-61-A3-51. Federal SN 6625-091-8734. Included is a CD with several PDF files(technical manuals for operation. Maintenance, tube data) plus an Excel file of tube data which has additional tube listings. Vintage test equipment in used condition. Has scratches and cracks on the meter cover. Missing/wrong screws on face plate. The carrying case shows signs of wear but overall good condition. The units is a bit grungy and could use a cleaning. The paper reel is intact with no tears but the thumb dial hangs up a bit in certain spots. Testing: Unit powers up. The line adjust works. Tested a few known good and bad tubes on the 9-pin socket only. It"passed" the good tubes and"failed" the bad ones so it appears to be somewhat functional. Instrument is not/has not been calibrated so accuracy is not known. That is the extent of the testing that was done. Comes with a supplemental test data sheets from 1962 and 1963. This is model 777. This tester works. Will test tubes just fine but the line adjust will only move about half way to the center. When you turn the line adjust knob the hum gets louder. It is working the needle just does not move to the center. The case is in fairly good condition. It is missing the handle. If you need a good tester without paying a lot of money this is it.

I purchased this out of a rural upstate NY estate. I am NOT a radio person so know nothing about it. I did plug it in(I was afraid to but the house survived) but it appears not to work. Or maybe the tube is no good. The plug wire is in bad shape so that may also be the problem. I found an antique catalog image& description of this on the internet but the image capture would not load onto my listing. This is sold as-is, as-found, so assume it does not work. B& K 650 Tube Tester with 610 Panel. Everything works as it should. The Tester is in very good condition. Comes with a copy of the Tube Chart. Also has the Instruction manual. It's for B& K 500 but the Set up is nearly the same. The Meter is shown in operation with the tube lite up. The 610 panel socket plugs into socket 41. The case does have wear. Up for auction is a rare Heathkit TT-1 tube tester. The unit comes complete with the user manual. As well as the original construction manual. Overall, the unit is in great physical condition. The faceplate sparkles with hardly a scratch on it! The outer case is somewhat faded, but the cloth is intact with the exception of on tear(see photos below) Some of the metal hardware has a little rust, but nothing too serious. I actually owned a TT-1 a few years back. And loved it. It's a great tube tester for someone who tests common audio tubes(6L6, 6V6, EL34, EL84, 12AX7, 6SN7, etc) The unit powered right up as the previous owner said it would, however, some of the knobs were very stiff, and a few would not turn at all. This is a used Sencore Mutual Conductance MU150 Continental II tube tester. It is in like new condition. It appears to have been used very little. I tested a known bad 6SN7GTA on the EM setting and it appears to be right on. I then checked a known good used 6V6GTA as shown in pictures. Checked EM. Grid leakage, and Mutual Conductance. Appears to be right on. You need to assume it to be uncalibrated. The overall condition of the case is nice. The metal has some minor rust around the latches. There is a round metal piece missing on top of one of the knobs. Due to age and not being a technician bid accordingly. No returns. It weighs 22lbs. Any overage on postage will be refunded.

I have not personally used this tester myself but was told by the previous owner that he had used it approximately 3-years ago and that it was working at that time. After purchasing it. I brought it home, plugged it in, and was able to adjust the line voltage properly. I have not done any additional testing beyond this and therefore, I am selling this item in as-is, untested, used condition. I don't know when it was last calibrated. But with readings like these, I wouldn't play with it! No. It won't test Compactrons, etc, but will do most audio and old radio tubes. The cabinet has a lot of small rips in the cloth covered wood cabinet. The roll chart works end to end, but sometimes will require extra effort near the ends. The strength of this tester is the ability to rapidly test a bunch of tubes. I replaced all the electrolytic caps with modern units of the same value along with a NOS 6BN8 tube and cleaned all the controls. The previous owner had replaced the 83 rectifier with silicon diodes. And this is acceptable with this model. I did replace them with current production for safety. A few sockets had also been previously replaced as they do wear out. The line cord was a spliced disaster so I installed a new one. I tested it with a variety of tubes using both upper and lower banks. But I did not test all sockets. It was close to my Hickock 6000A in readings so I didn’t mess with the calibration. The owner’s manual gives calibration instructions if it is ever needed, and I will include a PDF of the manual ... moreon CD. I noticed in the pictures that the bottom screw was missing, and I replaced the original screw that I left out when I serviced the tester. Guaranteed for a full refund on return if not as described. Up for auction is a TV-7A/U Tube Tester. This tester is from a collection I'll be auctioning over the next few months. It has been stored indoors in a smoke free and climate controlled home. The TV-7 series of military tube testers is considered one of the best testers ever made. The design is supremely rugged and compact. It tests a great many types quickly and easily and enjoys wide support. If you want a tube tester that gives great results with a small footprint the TV-7 is it. If you want a rugged tester you can travel with this one is also hard to beat. I love my TV-2 and I suppose it's portable but it hasn't moved from my bench in years and isn't likely to. I tested this TV-7 against my TV-2 using a few reference tubes and I got the expected result in every case. The ... moremeter is a bit off zero when powered down but the test results were good for both known good and bad tubes. That example has some dents. Dings and scratches typical of the rough handling these were designed to withstand. The hinge pins are bent but the lid still closes properly. All controls and switched are working properly. The controls have been cleaned and adjusted. New capacitor and resistors checked for tolerance. I used a reference set of tubes to validate test results against my calibrated TV-7 and it passed with flying colors. Shown testing good reference 6L6, 5Y3, and 12AX7. Also used a 6L6 with known short to validate that shorts test operates properly. I will warrant this tester to be fully funcional for all the tubes I validate against. The case is solid with no loose joints and good hinges, but some of the tolxex covering shows wear and could use attention. This will make someone a very reliable tube tester. I am also checking out a Sencore MU150 Continental II and a B&K 747 that will be available later.

I have a Hickok 539A tube tester for auction. The photos show the condition fairly. The instrument deck is in fine cosmetic condition but the case has some bumps and duct tape repairs. The unit has worked on all the tubes I have tried over the years and worked on a sampling today. The knobs and switches all work smoothly as they should. The paper roll works fine and there are no tears in it. It gives the expected readings for new tubes but it has not been calibrated in at least the 15 years I've had it. I bought it from a research facility and they did perform calibration but I don't know when the last one was done. It also comes with some tip sheets and supplemental data for additional tubes not included on the roll. The roll is copyright 1961. Resembling a sleek. Mid 1960's business executive's briefcase, in both size and style. this decked out machine looks more at home in a mid-century office, than on at the electronics tech's bench. Very cool to use and look at, these are verifiably collectible. The appeal does not end there. it's the flagship Sencore tube tester- very expensive when new- not as popular as competitor's B&K models- and much more invloved and capable. Sencore went the high road with asthetics. And sold these back in the 1960s for huge money. They staged educaton seminars for technitions back then, showing off all of the advanced features the MU150 had, compared to other types of portables. A tube era technition or traveling engineer generally left Sencore's show, feeling these were the ... moredeus-ex machina of tube troubles! It's quite true. If you did audio repairs back then, having a set that tested Mutual Conductance on many tubes, with an available conversion chart to GM/Micromhos was somthing only a few machines could do. Added to the over-the-top GAS/ shorts bridge- it's one heck of a sensitive checker. The MU150(an updated version of the MU140) Really does the extra mile to find trouble making tubes. It's why tube amp guys pay so much for it's far less capapable sibling, the"MityMite" for the GRID LEAKAGE test. When in this mode, the MU150 uses it's sensitive bridge to find noisy and"GASSY" tubes. The large tube bridge-meter is like a microscope compared to even the most expensive Laboratory machines! The MU150 was designed to quickly determine if your power tube WILL WORK. HOW STRONG IT IS, and finally to MATCH it up gain wise with others.
