Diamond in the rough would be fair. Very clean face plate and cabinet with no tears and only slight wear on some of the edges. Very clean overall. The set appears to have been treated very well in its past. See all the photos! Unfortunately it will need some work and calibrating. I tried testing a 12au7 for mutual conductance. The bias and voltage meters woke up when set was turned on but I got no response from the main meter when hitting the gm button. The tube did heat up. This is an excellent candidate for restoration at this price. Selling out due to age and health so no returns are offered. See my other listings for other test sets.

I have up for sale this great Realistic tube tester. Model 113 Gm& Em, by Radio Shack. This is sold"as-is" FOR REPAIR" I have tried to use this but it's a little over my head. There may be nothing wrong with it, I just can't get it to work right. I put a tube in, follow the chart, and the meter doesn't read correctly. So, someone with a little more experience needs to get this and figure it out. The roll chart works good, there is a light behind it, the meter will center on the line voltage test, and it come with the extra leads shown. The case is in very good condition. This will also test transistors. This will be a great deal for someone!

This is a functional TV-7D/U Tube Tester with manuals. When I bought this. The case was missing so I made a custom vented case. I recognize that to a collector this is incomplete but it is still a great unit. I used this for several years while I was repairing guitar amplifiers and never had any issues with it. It has been in storage for about 7 years and I haven't retested it. While taking the pictures, I noticed that the rubber on the cord is cracking so that should be replaced. Otherwise, there isn't any other deterioration.

Vintage Hickok tube tester 533a w/ instructions. Seems to work with Two lights that come on. Turned some dials and could not get the needles to jump or respond to anything, and one of the hinges is off so it does not close tight. This tube tester is a Hickok model 15560-L1 mutual conductance tester made for Western Electric for testing audio and other tubes made by Western Electric in addition to many other tubes. It is in good shape and test results compared favorably to those on another Hickok tester. All meters and switches work. The shorts indicating lights work as they should. The two rectifier tubes are good. A good quality reprint of the operating manual is included. Two or three capacitors were replaced and missing or damaged rubber feet were replaced. A small damaged part of the tube chart had to be cut out and the chart glued back together. This part was photocopied and is included. The roll chart works smoothly. The case has several scuffed and rough places. But it has done it’s job well and has protected ... morethe tester from any corrosion or other damage. This is 1930's tube tester. This tube tester was made by Readrite Meter Works of Bluffton. Ohio. This is a small instrument housed in a wooden box that measures 8 inches wide, 8.5 inches deep and 7 inches high with the top closed. When opened, the instrument face slopes from the back to the front. It is powered by regular household current with voltage ranging from 103 to 125 volts. The tester can test most 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 pin tubes of the 1930's era and earlier. A paper card that came with the meter has a list of tubes it can test, operating instructions, and a theory of operation.This card can be seen inside the lid in the photo. The instrument is turned on with the pointer knob on the lower right. Turning the knob clockwise turns the instrument on and you are to rotate the knob ... moreuntil the shadow line on the shadow meter aligns with the line marked on the meter face. The shadow meter can be seen in the photo above as the illuminated oval in the top center of the panel. In the photo, the instrument has been turned on and the shadow line is just to the left of the mark. According to the theory of operation that came with the meter, aligning the marks, ensures the metering circuit is supplied with exactly 30 Vac. The voltage is critical to ensure accurate tube emission measurements. You can tell this is an old piece of equipment, the paint is fading but it call all still be read. There are cracks in the wood where it looks like it was dropped so it doesnt close all the way but i think a couple small nails would solve this problem rather easily. You are bidding on a very old tube tester. READRITE 245A, with original paper work and original power cord and adaptor cordage. Overall in good condition. You will notice, however, that the center meter has a broken glass face. This tube checker- continuity tester is from the 1960's era and was manufactured by C-B-C Electronics Co. Inc. Philadelphia, Pa. This unit will test 7 pin, 9 pin, octal, and loctal vacuum tubes along with having a continuity tester leads(red wires) This item seems to be operational as after plugging it in the"red" leads were touched together and the neon indicator lit. The hard plastic case/ cover has no cracks with only some scaring marks on the inside of the unit cover. There is no corrosion in any of the vacuum tube pin inserts(best way to describe) and the electrical cord- tester leads are very pliable with no cracking. Sencore TC162 Mighty Mite. I just replaced 2 capacitors and calibrated the unit. Works Great. I am also including some New Socket Savers for the 8 and 9 pin sockets. Book is in good shape. Sencore's are great testers that will for sure weed out a bad tube. Even guys with testers that cost a lot more money use a Sencore for initial tests and shorts test. Condition is decent. It wont win prizes but its average with no real dents just some scratches. Hinge and handle are fine. Some minor light surface rust to inside of lid around tube chart.

As the photos photos show, the entire face of this tester is very clean and all of the lettering is still clear. All of the bakelite knobs and switches are original and are in great shape. I do not know if the wood case is original however, this tester fits in it well and it is structurally strong with some wear on the outer surfaces.
