Hickok 533A Tube Tester. This is an exceptionally clean tester that shows only minimal signs of use. There are a few scuffs on the case. But it otherwise looks and functions fine. The face is nice and bright and also looks very good. I see a few splotches of discoloration but nothing that stands out. The tester works great. As you can see from the images it calibrates to line voltage. It addition, I am showing it testing a 12AX7. the test results are commensurate with my calibrated Hickok 539C tester. Included are grid and plate cap jumpers and a copy of the Instruction Manual. This will make someone a very nice tester to use daily. Buyer pays $25 shipping in CONUS.

Offered is a TV-10 D/U vacuum tube tester. Its in very nice cosmetic condition and it comes with a copy of the original manual/data sheet. The TV-10 is a mutual conductance type tester with circuitry similar to the TV-7. The notable difference between the two are additional sockets for the 829/832(the large white ceramic socket you see on the left hand side of the tester) and 2C39(on the right hand side next to the meter) In addition. The meter scale is set to read directly in micro-ohms rather than as a percentage. This is a benefit if you prefer not having to translate the percentage scale from a TV-7 into micro-ohms. I also note that the roll chart has settings for both the KT-88 and KT-66, which sometimes is missing from TV-7 data. The roll chart also shows a good list of Western Electric ... moretypes including: 101,102, 262,300, 310, 311, 421 etc. The user manual has additional settings for 274 and the 205D. The T-10 is not a common tester. There far fewer of these around than the TV-2/3/or 7. I think it is probably superior to the 7. Several individuals I know think that they can be more accurately calibrated than the 7 and that is probably true. This set is all original as best I can tell. It does not appear to have had much use. The 7 and 9 pin mini sockets are tight and make good contact. Same too with the octal socket. The roll chart turns freely and all other functions appear to be in good operating shape. The only cosmetic flaw to note, besides the usual dents and dings, is that one of the hinges on the back side of the set has been replaced with something that looks modern. You can probably see this in one of the photos. I have owned this tester for 3-4 years and have only used it occasionally. I am downsizing now so, if you are looking for a nice clean TV-10, then this is probably the one for you. This unit is designed for 110-115VAC only. I have decided to part with my 539C very reluctantly(serial# 396-00941) but it needs to see more use than I give it these days now that I have the at1000. This tester has been recently serviced and calibrated in Jan 2012 by Kara Chaffee and has a brand new production glass front meter bought from Roger Kennedy(receipt included for both) the original meter was the newer square plastic one(the kind you do NOT want) and this is a later model tester with the smooth face. Comes with original manual. Obsolete and foreign tube charts. This tester functions in every way and quite well, specs on tests have matched my at1000. I am including a vintage pair of headphones to use with the noise test function and a DC mA meter to plug in to the plate current jacks when reading this measurement. This will ... morenot be cheap but will be fully double boxed with thick hard Styrofoam and fully insured against any damage that may occur in shipping. I will not accept returns on this but check my seller feedback and you will see an extensive history of service including multiple testers sold. This is the tester you want and ready to go so do not hesitate, I see these every so often and some have sold for way more just because the case is mint and shiny even though they have original meters that are prone to failure with age and have not been serviced. Conar 223 Tube Tester. Several tubes have been tested and this appears to be in good working condition, shown testing a type 41 tube, a 12AU7 and a 5U4 all known good tubes. Includes the Assembly and User manual, the 221-223-C Supplementary chart, a Coletronics 5-2-67 New Tube Releases chart and several other papers that most likely came with it when it was new. This is a very versatile tester that test tubes from the old 4& 5 pin types to the newer Compactron and Decal types. The first socket accommodates the early 4, 5& 6 pin types, the second socket is a small 7 pin for 6B7 type tubes but will not accommodate the large 7 pin types like 53 or 59, while these types are listed in the tube chart one would need to make an adapter to test these tubes or replace the socket, the tester ... morealso has the more common mini 7& 9 pin sockets as well as the Octal, Magnavol and Loctal sockets, the roll chart is good and easily turns. Available for sale is a Heathkit tube tester. Model IT-17, serial number 7409638. The unit is missing some of the plastic knobs, as well as two screws that hold the tester within the cabinet(simple to replace) The face is cleaner than the cabinet, but over it looks far better than some I have seen! This unit was acquired from a gentleman who used to repair/restore older tube radios as a hobby. It has been several years since he has tinkered with any of these. So I cannot say with any certainty what the current operational status is. I have not attempted to power this unit. I have recently found a Heathkit TT-1 which works better for me. So I'm selling this 533AS. I have refurbished this tester a little about 2 years ago. I replaced the power cord with a grounding cord and cleaned/lubed the switches and mechanisms. The unit shows some wear on top but is in overall very good condition. The paper roll works great and the chassis is very clean inside. I just tested the 5Y3GT and Type 80 tubes in it on my TT-1 and they both test very good. The tester has three gm ranges: 3000, 6000 and 15000 micromhos, and also a pass/fail(English) selection. I have used it very little testing some tubes for old shortwave receivers I occasionally work on. Included are an eleven page copy of the Operator Manual and a two page copy of the Calibration procedure. I have never calibrated ... morethe unit but it seems to test ok. Vintage Superior Model TV-11 Tube Tester. Tester powers up and meter moves to center of dial. I followed the instructions carefully to test for a short. But first tube glowed for a second and then went dark. 2nd attempt had the same results. I removed tester from it's case and found inside a part in terrible condition. see photo 7 with arrow) I am not into circuitry, but it could be a voltage regulator. I could not find any other visible defects or burn sites in the wiring, but again I have no knowledge in this area. I do know if tester cannot be repaired. it is full of useful parts, and the cabinet is very solid. Photo 5 shows one missing rubber foot. And photo 6 shows 2 missing rubber feet. Simpson 1000 Tube Tester. Several tubes have been tested and this appears to be working just fine but it may have a problem, the line adjust control gets hot, this may be normal for this tester or it may be foretelling of an imminent failure. Other known problems are the 9 pin mini socket will need replaced as it makes intermittent contact though it feels tight and the roll chart has been taped in a couple of areas and has a few other bad spots, only a couple of areas are un-readable, the chart is also off line and crocked through the window. Shown testing a type 55 tube, a 12AU7 and a 5Z3 all known good tubes, includes the User manual which is in good condition, the manual has the circuit diagram in the back should one need it. This machine is similar to the Hickok 539-c and was built for the Western Electric Company by Hickok and includes testing data for Western Electric tubes such as the 300B etc. both on the roll chart and in the supplementary tube data manual. Included in this sale are the following: The tester. A grid cap lead, a larger plate cap connector so you can build a lead that will allow you to check tubes such as an 811A without holding the grid cap lead to the plate cap(see picture) a copy of the operations manual and a copy of the Obsolete Supplementary Test Data Manual, and the Daven 4416B Self Bias Decade Resistor. In my opinion, the condition of this unit is very good both cosmetically and functionally. The cabinet is clean inside and out as ... moreis the tester itself. Superior TV 11 Tube Tester WORKS GREAT with Manual& Tube Data Tests Many Types! Superior TV-11 Tube Tester with the Original Manual and Tube Data The tester has been tested thoroughly and we have tested many tubes on it. It does have a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage and it has been calibrated. And some old resistors and capacitors replaced to ensure to be trouble free for years to come and can test almost every tube type. A 5R4 is being tested in the pictures for quality and filament continuity on both sections. The tester also has a noise test that uses a regular headphone jack(1/4 inch) and it works as well. That any tube is tested in the diode mode. It is a way to go, and I have found some that are working amazingly well, like for instance the Superior Instruments TV10 or TV11. They look so old fashioned, you would not give much for it. However they have all modern sockets, even a subminiature socket. They have a quite complete roll chart, plus a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage. The rectifier for the meter is a tube with the TV10, and solid state for the TV11. It means you have to pay some attention to the TV10's and TV11 rectifier circuit, which measures the mains voltage. The TV10 and TV11 separate the bad tubes from the good ones in a reliable way, and leakage test is working very good. lamp must go one below 300.400k Ohms) The wooden case is solid oak wood, which can be restored very nice. Calibration instructions: Set the potentiometer until the rated voltages appear on the transformer. EMC vintage tube tester measures 8.5 x7.25 x 3 inches. This is one of four vintage tube testers I found in an old house I recently purchased. I had a successful auction of a non working tester last week. I have little knowledge about electronics and was reluctant to use a liquid cleaner on tester. I'm sure it can look a little better. The only physical defect I can see is what I call the top of tube tester. This old Precision Series 654 Tube and High Sensitivity Set Tester has not been tested but the red power light works when plugged in and the Ohms Line Adjustment dial works. The wooden case has some scuffs and some age soiling but is in solid condition. The unit comes with all the paper works shown on the photos. 5 Supplementary Data Charts, The Operating Instructions, has been rolled up, but is still legible, plus 9 other papers, mostly pertaining to tube data, plus 6 tubes and the VIBRA-DAPTOR Model VB2. Up for auction is a vintage Hickok tube tester Model 600. This unit has a missing lid/cover. The 5Y3 and 83 tubes are in working order. But the 83 is probably on its last legs, just an FYI. The tubes are dated 0-43 and 0-50. The meter is in working order too. Some mounting screws are missing and the case has normal wear, scratches, and a few gouges. The scroll works and is dated 12-1-56. All knobs and switches are in tact and appear to be functional. I was able to power this unit up without any fuss as you can see in the pictures. I tested three different tubes.80. 6CG7, and 6F6G. After testing the three tubes, I found the readings a bit lower in comparison with my TV7 tester. The worst reading was the first side of the 6CG7 as this tube is in good condition(both sides) but came up with a ... morefalse bad. I also had trouble with testing a 12AX7, where neither side gave me a reading for whatever reason. I believe all this unit needs is a good cleaning and calibration and some TLC. Unfortunately.
