Vintage Precision Apparatus Co Multi-Master Series 858 Multi- Tester VERY RARE I do not know how to test these. There is age wear to the outer wooden box(see photos) and age wear on the inside but everything looks to be in great shape. There are two wires with plug ins in the box(one red wire/one black wire) see photo) and they appear very old with some damage. The tester is about 10"x9"x4.5" The inner panel reads"SERIES 858 PRECISION APPARATUS CO. INC ELMHURST L.I. N.Y. USA" The outer panel is stamped"MODEL 858 SERIAL 2550" I do not know anything about these pieces of equipment so if I have left something out please ask me. I do not know how to test these things. This sale is for a TV-7D/U. The serial number is 8669. The photo of the invoice reads. This tester is in great shape and shows little wear. After some minor tweaks, the unit settled in and should provide many years of service. I reconnected the meter and installed a replacement meter capacitor. I also added meter protection diodes. I replaced the octal socket saver. I adjusted the cal pots as needed. All the sockets are good and I checked/ adjusted each pin with my gauges to assure them. The test data and more info is sent along with the tester. The test settings book, grid/plate test leads and a new cord where added. This work was done July 2013. Here we have a Vintage B& K Dyna Quik#650 Vacuum Tube& Transistor Tester B&K Dynamic Mutual Conductance. It comes with: Tube Selector Cards. which you look up your Tube. Then it will tell you the socket you use, heater and sensitivity settings. Also it comes with a B&K CR-57 Adapter. A TV Picture Britener 1B140, Socket L IB3#56 Adapter, Some adapter with no markings on it and a 10J203 Converter. It operates from 110VAC and as you can see from the pictures I have shown it powered up and working. Now I own 2 tubes to my name. One I know is good and the other is bad. This is a True Mutual Conductance tube tester. The unit is perhaps the finest tube tester available or ever produced for the mainstream public and the beauty of this one is that it has been completely refurbished and upgraded by the best in the business on the Triplett 3444 my friends at C. G. Industries in Florida. See the photo of the sticker on the meter it was just calibrated last year and has seen approx. 150 hours use so it is ready to go as it is good for 5000 hrs. after the calibration. As you can see from the pictures, it is still calibrated from the factory. The Grid Leakage and Emission calibration was right on, and also checked the shorts function as well which also checked out perfect. This is a antique Sterling Tube Re-Activator. Made by The Sterling MFG. CO. Cleveland. Ohio. It has the little four pin tube adapter. Model R-403. It measures 7" X 5 1/2" X 4 3/4" Made in the 1920's, early 1930's. It is made of pressed metal. It is rusty, the gauge looks very good, no scratches on the glass. The switch moves a little hard. This is a great looking old model 68 tube tester from the old radio tech's estate. Thia had been in a box for years. The metal holder case is great shape with no dents or bad scratches in it. The latch on the lid works perfectly and holds lid tight closed. Hinges are tight and not loose fitted. This still has all 5 rubber feet that are soft and not cracked or broken. The face plate of this is nearly perfect with no scratches or dirt. The gauge is not cracked or broken and it works. The wires of this are not cracked or broken. I tried this out on a couple different tubes and it worked great on them. All knobs are present and they all move as they are suppose to move. The paper orerating instruction book in the lid is not the best of shape. Some pages are torn and loose from the staples. ... moreThe leather holder stap on the top of the lid is soft also. Hickok 538 for Parts or Repair. NO RESERVE There are two transformers in this model and they are both working. That is about the only part you cant replace in these old testers so thats important. Heater voltage OK Plate Voltage OK( above 150 but I didn't use a shunt resistor when checking on a digital meter- so seems like would be about 150) Screen voltage OK Bias changes with bias control( about-40 at max) Meter appears functional and moves when switch is in the VOM function. Meter does not move when P4 is pressed in tube mode. You can hear the tranny hum change sound a little when P4 is pressed so I believe the tube is under test conditions just not getting to the meter. Likely location is the mode switch but its pretty buried under the VOM section and I didn't want to damage it ... moreas Im not familiar with that portion of this Hickok. so Im passing this along to someone who may be better equipped to fix. case is in fair condition. EICO 628 tube tester tested. Cleaned and calibrated, this has a replacement meter that is the electrical equivalent of the original meter with out the color graph- otherwise the function is exactly the same as the original meter, calibration of this tester consist of checking the tolerance of all components, any that were out of tolerance have been replaced with 5% verses the original 10% tolerance, the tester functions as it should- all readings are consistent compared to my other testers, all tube sockets, switches, contacts and controls have been cleaned and tested for proper function, a new power cord has been installed, the roll chart works well but tends to hang just a bit, the case is decent for its age showing scuff& scratch marks and some minor rust spots, a photo copy of the ... moreinstruction manual will be included, pictured testing a 12AX7, a 6L6GC and a 6KD6 Don't forget to checkout my other items. This auction is for a Hickok TV-7 Tube Tester. The TV-7 series of testers was well known for their reliability. Durability and ruggedness. These military grade testers were made by several sub-contractors, but Hickok was the original designer. The tester offered in this auction is the original model TV-7 and it was a back-up to a duplicate that I use in my repair/restoration business. This unit was thoroughly checked for proper operation and accuracy, all switches were cleaned and checked for proper operation and a calibration was performed to check for correct plate, screen, and bias voltages. All tube sockets were cleaned. I tested a variety of 7, 9, 8 pin octal and some vintage 4 and 5 pin tubes of known quality. The tester is performing correctly and accurately. During its military service ... moreit was updated to a 3 prong grounded power cord, this rig runs on 120 VAC. The picture of the case shows this as an"A" model, but it is actually a straight TV-7 and all pictures of the front panel and chassis are of a straight TV-7. The case was probably switched out at some repair depot some years ago. Exterior condition is very clean, minor scratches as is typical, all knobs move with positive detents, there is no wear around the knobs on the front panel which shows this unit was used very little. The tester comes with a new tube spec book and one plate/grid test lead. The unit has been thoroughly run and will give many years of good service. Unit is packed very securely in a foam lined box. Up for bid is this nice looking clean Heathkit TC-2 tube checker. This is going to sell as is because I have no way to fully test this. The light comes on when you turn it on and the needle moves when you turn the Set Line Knob and that's as far I can test this. The red wire coating is cracked and the plastic cover over the needle is scuffed and cracked. Other than that this looks good. There are some instruction papers that are chewed up, there is a Brochure book for 1958 Heathkits. There are three fold out papers with diagrams on them.
